I don't really understand people being upset about this. Colt has every right to make this decision. It's entirely likely that AR-15's get restricted 'soon' so why not start early and garner some goodwill?
IOW: The AR 15 has become so popular the price point is falling. Colt will resume manufacturing when stock has depleted to a level of which the price point will be maintained. Nothing to see here folks except a business managing its inventory to maximize profit.
