MetLife's survey found about 55% of remote workers spent over an hour a week worried about finances versus 37% of onsite and hybrid employees. They are also more concerned about being laid off — and“Benefits play a major yet often overlooked role in employees’ overall financial health. A lack of understanding of benefit options is only compounding the financial insecurity remote workers feel today,” said Bradd Chignoli, senior vice president, group benefits at MetLife, in a press release.

But remote employees were twice as likely to say they enrolled in the wrong types of benefits last year, and 57% said they needed more information to make the right benefit choices. "Companies that provide robust employee education and a smooth enrollment experience are rewarded with higher employee confidence, satisfaction and greater engagement with the benefits program," Gowen said.A survey by the Business Group on Health
