Nottingham is standing together

Andrew Stuart, 51, of Mapperley, said: "I've lived in Nottingham my whole life and never know anything like this. It's truly tragic. The city has been shocked and it truly is unprecedented here. I can't get my head around the senseless violence. My heart will always go out to them for the rest of my life. Nottingham is a safe city and always will be because everyone is so loving. And that will not change. I'm touched by the response we have shown.

She added: “It is nothing that I have ever seen before. I’m a student at Nottingham Trent University, and I didn’t know them - but this is a student heavy city so this was a very scary. “I kept thinking what could have happened if it was all earlier in the year, when more student were out and about. Most of them have gone back home.”Jamie Dunham, 28, a Nottingham Forest fan from Bulwell said: "I wanted to come and pay my respects. We are all in shock. It won't shape the city. We will stand together and come through it.

"My heart goes out to the families impacted by this. I can't believe it in our amazing city. We haven't been able to sleep properly. I think the turnout is amazing and sums Nottingham up. We will always show solidarity to each other."
