The UN ambassador from the iccwbo said sustainability programs amount only to a 'nice show and tell' unless 8 systemic changes are made

The parade of heads of state, business leaders, and fellow NGO reps that spoke about sustainability we had just seen at the United Nations General Assembly was something he's very familiar with, as the UN ambassador for the International Chamber of Commerce . It's the world's largest business organization, promoting international trade and regulation among its 46 million members, and has observer status at the UN.

The SDGs are 17 goals for eliminating extreme inequality, poverty, and man-made climate change by 2030. The urgency comes not only from a spirit that these are the right things to do, but from the real dangers that these afflictions are posing to the long-term health of large and small nations alike. One of this week's UNGA conclusions was that the world is far off track from meeting the goals in time.
