The Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, who has just appointed 500 new learner law enforcement officers , will this week hold a Safety Cabinet meeting in Cape Town, Western Cape.

Western Cape Minister of Community Safety Albert Fritz says the Safety Cabinet meeting is to outline the implementation of the province’s provincial Safety Plan, which aims to halve the city’s murder rate in the next 10 years. The 500 new officials will receive in-field training and will be deployed to communities most affected by violence, including hot spots like Mitchell’s Plain, Delft and Kraaifontein.
