Facebook just revealed the Oculus Quest 2, a $300 successor to its most popular VR headset

Facebook's virtual reality group revealed a new VR headset on Wednesday: the Oculus Quest 2.

With the Oculus Quest 2, Facebook is making its main VR headset better — and less expensive — than ever: The base model starts at $300.Sony and Microsoft aren't the only two companies launching major new gaming hardware this holiday season. On Wednesday, Facebook revealed the Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality headset.

Like the original Quest, the Quest 2 doesn't require a PC to power virtual reality. It's a bit like the Nintendo Switch of virtual reality: You can play it unplugged, anywhere, as a standalone device, or you can plug it in to a PC and play more visually dazzling, PC-powered virtual reality games like "Half-Life: Alyx" that require more processing muscle. It's lighter, more powerful, and has a more capable screen.

I just recently bought a Rift S from a friend and i was loving it. But im not going to have facebook spying on my life. Its a damn shame because the Occulus is a great headset.

Not buying oculus anymore. Going to valve index. Fuck facebook

I would use it if the Facebook account requirement wasn’t there
