We absolutely need broad, sweeping change that will shift generational burdens, and a forgiveness plan for federal student loans will help get us there, especially one paid through taxing billionaires. Keep in mind, though, that there are alsowho owe around $130 billion in private loans, and providing them support would significantly fire up the economy as well.
Part of what made our country great in the 1950s was the free education available. It encouraged so many to work for their dream and kept us the leader that we want to be in the world. These predatory tactics harm the whole country.
