A boom worth hundreds of millions of dollars crreates a skills shortage in Queensland's film industry.

While Queensland's booming film industry has attracted A-list actors and major productions, it has also created a skills shortage many are keen to fill.

"Exciting for the industry, exciting for Queensland but also, personally, seeing those big names come to Queensland and the Gold Coast," she said.But the scale and complexity of film production have created a hunger for skills some might not expect.Not just the 'creative parts' "The influx of productions, of course, has exacerbated some of that and also created some new skills gaps that we're working to fulfil."

"I never really imagined I'd be this close to being able to go on set, being able to watch actors on set, scan actors," she said.Her job was created after company director Duncan Jones noticed a "tech and skills gap" for local 3D scanning.
