The new system aimed to fast-track homes through the planning system will not prove effective unless local authorities are resourced correctly, one of the biggest construction project consultancies in Ireland has warned. Kevin James, managing director at Cogent Associates, said the new LRD scheme will only work if staffing numbers in local authorities’ planning units are boosted significantly.
