A small business owner has been left furious with Karen's Diner as the controversial restaurant allegedly owes her thousands of dollars.

Megan Ma owns Tasty Korea Chicken in Hobart and agreed to run a second ticketed event with Karen's Diner on May 27.

"We had to buy more stock to prepare for the event. I had to pay for the labour, and everything to prepare," Ms Ma said. Karen's Diner confirmed it had received the invoice on May 30, but by June 15, Ms Ma was forced to call up as she hadn't received the well overdue money. "With the economy these days...everything has increased, and we cannot increase our selling prices much more because we want to keep our prices affordable."
