Digby Pines and NSCC come up with their own way to address shortages in Nova Scotia's hospitality industry

“He was the one that initiated the conversation, recognizing that there’s a huge problem in the industry, that they just don’t have enough skilled staff,” MacPherson said. “Credit to Glenn, he recognized that if it was an issue that industry tried to deal with on its own, or education tried to deal with on its own, there’d be a ceiling as to how much we’d be able to accomplish.

Squires said the concept gives students some real-life experience and the ability to learn while being present in a working hotel.
