New Zealand's Okareka Dance Company is making its Texas debut in "Mana Wahine ." Presented by TITAS/Dance Unbound, the piece includes both live performers and hologram-like projections.make up almost a fifth of the country’s population. They’re descendants of Eastern Polynesians who migrated in waves beginning in the 13th or 14th century, hundreds of years before the arrival of European settlers.

Nancy Wijohn performs in front of a projection of Maori elder Tui Matira Ranapiri-Ransfield in Okareka Dance Company's "Mana Wahine.", a performing artist and expert in traditional Māori weaponry who appears on stage as a digital projection. Ranapiri-Ransfield is traveling with the group and will participate in talkbacks after the performances.
