Dow closes in the red; Nasdaq, S&P 500 finish higher

U.S. stocks closed mixed to mostly higher Thursday as investors struggled to digest concerns about job losses from coronavirus lockdowns and rising case counts. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.15% lost about 40 points, 0.2%, to close near 26,080, while the S&P 500 SPX, +0.05% rose about 2 points or 0.1%, closing near 3,115. The Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, +0.32% closed near 9,943, up 33 points or 0.3%. A report on weekly jobless claims showed 1.

shares fell 5.4% after the retailer said there are doubts about its ability to continue as a going concern.
