UNIVERSAL CREDIT claims have surged this year, will millions more people claiming the payment during the coronavirus pandemic than in the past. Earnings impact the amount recipients get, however some will get the work allowance.

The figures, published by the Department for Work and Pensions , show on October 8, 2020, 5.7 million people were on Universal Credit.
