PETALING JAYA: An Industry Vaccination Centre (PPVIN) has been set up at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to begin vaccinating over 20,000 workers from the nation’s aviation industry, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Transport Minister said the move is part of the government’s ongoing effort to vaccinate those employed in the transportation sector.

He said the PPVIN, set up in collaboration between the Science, Technology, and Innovation Ministry and the Health Ministry, began vaccinating people on Monday and will end on Sept 24. Under the programme, Dr Wee said that Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad is working together with several airlines and related sectors to get workers immunised.

Dr Wee added that more centres will be set up to speed up the vaccination of some 19,259 rail and bus workers.
