The founder and Chief Executive Officer of Oríkì Group, Joycee Awosika, tells MOBOLA SADIQ about her journey as an entrepreneur, some of the lessons she has learnt in business and other issuesI am a trained economist and power sector specialist. I was born and raised in the United States of America. While growing up, I developed a colossal desire to explore my heritage and move to Nigeria. I have five siblings all based in the US.

After committing to the power sector for a few years and getting experience in government, I made the decision to start a company, where I felt I could make a greater impact by marrying the abundance of natural resources in Nigeria, the abundance of human capital and the need to make wellness integrated into lifestyle.

How easy has it been running a business in Nigeria and did you ever have any difficulty with raising capital?
