The Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) in the Western Cape says it will embark on strike action on Thursday against crime and high fuel prices.

Cosatu members will march through the Cape Town CBD, to the provincial legislature, Civic Centre and Parliament.“The march is about[and it is] about the high petrol price that affects us nationally. We have had meetings under the auspices of NEDLAC [National Economic Development and Labour Council] since 2018. Unfortunately, the parties couldn’t reach an agreement.
