Benfica president Rui Costa has discussed Morato’s transfer to Nottingham Forest. The 23-year-old Brazilian defender joined the Reds from the Portuguese giants on the summer transfer window’s deadline day, signing a five-year deal at the City Ground.
Morato played 86 times for Benfica, winning the domestic title in 2022-23, and speaking about his departure Costa bluntly told BTV the player was well down the pecking order at the Estádio da Luz. “He probably would have had a few minutes during the season, so he left.
