Texas state reps are furious that the industry didn’t raise alarm about the risk of the power crisis

“I can’t do my duty if I don’t have reliable information,” said one state representative. “It wasn’t until February 14th that I got a call" about plans to keep online a major nuclear plant, Comanche Peak, the representative said.

Hill responded that he himself was not aware that there would be an emergency situation until the cold weather mass had already arrived. “We did not know there would be a grid emergency," he said, pointing out that ERCOT did not issue any calls to conserve energy until the 14th, one day before the outages began.
