The sneaky move, referred to by experts as "shrinkflation", is a way companies are able to increase the price of their products without actually having to alter the price tag.

Similarly, a Weetbix value pack now just offers 1.2kg of the cereal, when it used to have 1.5kg, and a bag of Smiths chips now contains 170g instead of 200g.
