The Europeans capitalised on the one-woman advantage with a brilliant try courtesy of Alba Cappel moments later. And Ines Bueso made no mistake with the conversion to make it 14-5 to Spain in the 22nd minute. The Boks were back in the lead soon after the break with a try from Sinazo Mcatshulwa. And Zenay Jordaan added two more points with the conversion to make it 17-14 in favour of the home team.

The Boks had another disciplinary incident when Mabenge became the second Boks player to be sin-binned in the 58th minute.
