The city of Mesa hopes its new workforce center will serve as a one-stop shop for job seekers and develop a pipeline for employers in need of workers in the East Valley.
She added that the target industries the workforce center will look to service are health care, education, aerospace and defense, technology and tourism. Thus far, Romaine said the workforce center has worked with entities or companies such as Lucid Motors, Mesa Public Schools, UPS, FedEx, The Home Depot and Marriott Hotels & Resorts.
"A good job that provides opportunities for advancement can make every difference for families and individuals wanting to move out of survival mode and into a state where they are growing, thriving and secure,"Arizona's unemployment rate was 3.9% as of October 2022, which remains unchanged since October 2021, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Condensed to the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale area, the unemployment rate was at 3.5%.
