The African National Congress Electoral Committee has called on all ANC members to refrain from abusing party processes by making allegations that are not backed up by tangible evidence.
This after a scathing letter addressed to the Committee Chairperson Kgalema Motlanthe was circulated on social mediaThe letter which parked outrage, allegedly written by ANC KwaZulu-Natal member Thabang Mdletshe, accuses Cyril Ramaphosa, Gwede Mantashe, and Treasurer-General candidate Bejani Chauke of vote-buying.
“The electoral committee did not receive the letter via an email or normal means of communication. We picked it up from the social media WhatsApp groups, and the members of our electoral committee dropped it on our WhatsApp group and we decided that we need to attend to it as if it is true.
“These kinds of allegations are divisive, they have got the potential to create problems in the leadership. But if there is sufficient evidence brought to the fore, it should be done quickly, so that those who are involved in wrongdoing should be dealt with,” says political analyst Dr. Levy Ndou.Thabang Mdletshe has since written a letter to the ANC Electoral Committee, assuring them that he is not the author of this letter.
You guys are talking rubbish, do you refrain from abusing our Constitution? It's all about ANC, if you are not an ANC member you not a citizen? That is what it is,you guys don't have conscience by using the poor to vote you in then abandoned them .
One day we will wake-up only to find out that we have been sold out as well as our country. This ppl love money more than their ppl and their country.
Members are only receiving the money, why not focus on who is giving the money
There is such thing as assassinations at ANC, so one would certainly be warry of standing up and challenging the status quo. Some have paid with their lives for being astute members. Hani is one.
ANC fighting amongst themselves, and nothing about ordinary citizens
It's a shame that SA doesn't have an alternative or opposition party that is good enough to take over SA politics and just forget about these clowns
Ramaphosa bought the whole 54th and 55th conference we all know
