The House Jan. 6 committee failed to hold social media companies to account for the role they played in in the US Capitol attack, staffers and witnesses say

“There might be someone getting shot tomorrow.” That was the warning from Twitter staff at an internal meeting on Jan. 5, 2021, the eve of the deadly attack on the US Capitol. It wasn’t the only stark warning Twitter management received ahead of the insurrection, according to two former Twitter employees who spoke to the House Jan. 6 Committee.
