Rich nations must help develop South Africa's green hydrogen industry

Rich nations have an obligation to fund South Africa’s development of green hydrogen as part of a global effort to decarbonise, according to the presidency’s infrastructure chief.

“The developed world has a moral and ethical responsibility to help fund the adoption of green hydrogen,” Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, head of the presidency’s infrastructure office, said on Thursday at a conference in the southeastern port city of Durban. Up to R300 million has been budgeted by the government for research into the hydrogen industry, with input from Germany and Japan, according to Ramokgopa.

No. South African politicians need to first become productive leaders.

CarlEdwards007 The word'must'sounds like WITS students Aggressive Violent Beggars U must Govt must WMC must White privilege must Insanity=Rich countries continuing with coal Paying poor countries 2 eliminate their coal To equalize carbon emissions not reduce them

Only if Gift of the givers will manage the money...

Rich countries mustn't do shit. The ANC just have to get out.

Why don't we do it ourselves? We could do it 40 years ago!!

Just go do it. Build something. Get Inspired. Love beats lazy. 💚

Lol why would they give us money when they can’t even get their goods they’ve paid for through our ports?!

Why should they when the ruling party actively supports terrorist states and the Cadres are just going to steal the investment anyway

Is this a parody Who TF is going to give SA money under the auspices of the last 30 years

Another payday for the anc

Private sector to the rescue pls

😂😂🤣🤣🤣

One reason SA has a crisis, besides the insane corruption, is the fact that these 'Rich nations' are imposing green energy on emerging economies without factoring local communities coal industry supports. It makes sense, especially when THEY are NOT doing what they preach.

Must? what a joke. More entitlement from this country. How about people work for things instead of demanding things. Anyway the ANC will just scoop up the money for them. Time the world learned not to 'help' SA as the money gets 'lost'

So the anc can steal more? voetsekANC

Why So this industry can also be used as a ATM without a pin for ANC politicians
