The market has much to offer on its many stalls

There is good news for Ruddington village's market as it has received funding to support its growth and expansion. The funding will hopefully boost the local economy and attract more visitors.

Rushcliffe Borough Council has provided £14,800 in match funding through its Strategic Growth Fund to Ruddington Village Community Partnership to support the running of the market which now sees more than 75 participating businesses. The market, originally set up and run by volunteers, has a number of stalls including the Beeston Brownie Company, Anna Travelling Design and Alight Candle Company.

Held on the first Saturday of every month from 9am to 2pm, organisers from the RVCP welcome visitors to the market on The Green and the chance to explore and shop at other independent businesses, enjoy live music and entertainment for the family.

"The market shines a light on the great local high street and independent businesses we have in Rushcliffe and further afield. It is a super shopping experience for visitors and there are a wide range of businesses from food and drink stalls to arts and crafts, pet supplies and much more.Mike Ader, chair of RVCP, added: "Support from Rushcliffe Borough Council has been vital to the success of the market and the wider activities of RVCP.

"Through projects such as Ruddington Village Market and Makers Night, we have raised the profile of Ruddington as a place to visit and invest in, and assistance from the Strategic Growth Fund has been invaluable to realising these aims."
