The lawsuit claimed that Altria Group, Inc., which became a partial owner of the vape company, coordinated Juul's expansion into"kid-friendly" nicotine flavors to reach a broader market. Menefee said Harris County was the first government entity in Texas to file a lawsuit against the companies. "This is an important win for Harris County residents and government. E-cigarette companies pushed Juul products on our youth and got kids across the country addicted to vaping. These lawsuits are about holding them accountable,” Menefee said.
