Kambala: ‘I still have unfinished business in the PSL’

With all the transfer confusion that erupted during the off-season, Mozambican international Manuel Kambala has come out to settle the issue.

Kambala – whose goal famously denied Kaizer Chiefs the title four years ago – has remained at Betway Premiership club Polokwane City for another season."You must understand that I’m still contracted to the club, which is why I will play here until the end of the season."Actually, I still have unfinished business in the PSL, so I hope you understand me."This season, we want to push the same way towards improving the fortunes of the club.

"With regards to UD Songo, it is a club that I played for before and remain very close to up to now and they also know that. "I remain open to the possibility of going back there, but for now, I have a contract to honour here at Polokwane."For now, let me focus on the job and contract that I have here at Polokwane, which I’m grateful for," explains Kambala.Kambala is famously remembered for denying Chiefs the 2019/20 title after his goal, while at Baroka FC, meant Amakhosi didn’t collect the three points they needed to pip Mamelodi Sundowns to the title.

The Soweto giants have not been anywhere close to winning the league since then under Gavin Hunt, Stuart Baxter, Arthur Zwane, Molefi Ntseki and Cavin Johnson, which is why that goal still rings for the Khosi Nation. For 14 free days, you can have access to the best from Soccer Laduma, KickOff, Daily Sun, TrueLove and Drum.
