JOHOR BARU: With Hari Raya approaching, traders selling festive cookies are enjoying brisk sales.

Siti Khazar Ahmad, who has been supplying festive cookies to more than 50 stores here, said the demand had increased this year.“Many of my regular customers have begun to stock up their outlets with festive cookies,” she said at Plaza Angsana.Store owner Suhaiza Ibrahim, 42, said she could sell at least 50 containers of cookies in a day.

“Only the price of packaging has gone up a little this year,” she said, adding that the price of ingredients such as sugar and flour remained the same.Shop assistant Karmilah Amir, 38, pointed out that there was a drop in the number of visitors from Singapore this year.“I hope there will be more of them soon as they would normally buy cookies in bulk,” she said.
