Minister of Electricity and Energy Dr. Kgosientsho Ramokgopa says he’s confident that government will provide relief around the proposed electricity tariff hikes.
WINDABA is a gathering to share relevant and up-to-date information about wind power and its contribution to the energy sector. However, there are concerns about Eskom’s proposed electricity price increases and their economic impact. “I am confident where I am that the issues around the tariff, we can provide some degree of relief but we are not going to soil the NERSA process. NERSA is going to run its process, I will make a submission as a minister through that process,” says Ramokgopa.Ramokgopa has meanwhile attributed the no load shedding period, which the country is experiencing to a couple of things.
“Bad apples were there like in any institution, Eskom is 40 000 plus people, bad apples were there undermining the work that we are doing, leakage maleficence corruption.”
