A socio-political group, the Collective Movement , is urging former presidential candidate Peter Obi to make a decision toward merging with other opposition parties in preparation for the 2027 elections. The group argues that announcing a merger now would give Nigerians a clear choice in the coming election and help create a unified front to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress .
According to Ekechukwu, an early identification of the merging parties would promote a sense of unity among their leaders and supporters, giving them a greater chance to connect with voters.Ekechukwu explained that forming a coalition now would create a solid alternative to the APC and help foster public awareness about the new alliance. “This is about building credibility, recognition, and a unified vision,” he said.
