President Cyril Ramaphosa says the Waterberg District Development Model in Shongoane village near Lephalale in Limpopo will bring development closer to the people. Ramaphosa will officially launch the developement model today.The Waterberg district is home to many coal mines and the two Eskom power stations, Medupi and Matimba. President Ramaphosa will first conduct a walk-about at the multi-billion-rand Medupi power station.
Residents of the Waterberg District in Limpopo are hopeful that the implementation of the District Development Model will bring positive changes to their lives. It is aimed at ensuring that the three spheres of government form a single plan, to fast track service delivery at district level. In Waterberg the focus will mostly be on mining and energy.
