Dallas Regional Chamber CEO Dale Petroskey said the group will not cool its DEI efforts.

The DRC issued its inaugural DEI report last year, reaching out to its nearly 400 members with an active DEI contact.

More than half of the participating companies have a dedicated DEI department or team, and nearly 70% have a chief diversity officer. But counter to best practices, less than a third of the surveyed companies’ chief diversity officers report directly to a CEO, according to last year’s report. While there’s been no legal address by the high court about workplace DEI initiatives, groups like Consumer Research, an advocacy group that lobbies against environmental and social governance policies, plan to push back on “racially-focused hiring,” whether that be through social campaigns or lawsuits.U.S.

“That’s a problem for our economy because businesses often rely on colleges and universities to provide a diverse pipeline of talent for recruitment and hiring,” Burrows said in a statement.
