Only recently married, and counting down the days until she gives birth to a baby boy, she never thought living in a tent in a campground on the outskirts of Darwin would be her everyday reality."[It's] not good sleeping, you get back pains and headaches in the morning. It was pretty rough." "We thought we were going to find something really quick, but when we realised it wasn't like this, we were like, 'we cannot afford living in [a hotel room for] $160 a night'," Ms Castillo said."My mum, she was pretty distressed. She was like 'you cannot be living in the caravan park' … and at first she didn't even know about the baby.

"We're still looking for a place because we want something long-term, [and] we want to be in Darwin," she said.'Just plain greed': Tenancy solicitor Matthew Gardiner is a tenancy solicitor at the Darwin Community Legal Service , who deals with the real-life fallout of the NT rental crisis on a daily basis.
