New York is known for so many things – art, dining, nightlife, Broadway! – but to me, it’ll always be my favourite place to shop. Need a new dress? A hammer? Maybe a tin of overpriced sardines? Fancy cleanser ? A rare book? Tin of pencils? It’s all here – and what’s more, it’s all the very best version of those things.
Not only that, New York is one of the best walking cities in the world. On a recent trip, the weather had just become cooler, and I took advantage by walking, my Apple watch tells me, 25 kilometres each day . Why wouldn’t I, when the sights are so spectacular and the streets so simple to navigate?Before we begin, a major caveat: this is by no means a comprehensive guide to shopping the Big Apple.
