As the chart below suggests, the"shared favorites" group has dominated since 2013. It's generated an annualized return of 19% over the period, compared to 14% for both hedge fund VIPs and mutual fund overweights.On a year-to-date basis, share favorites have returned 18%, compared to 13% for hedge fund elites and 15% for the mutual fund Illuminati.
