The employees who spoke with Business Insider largely indicate that, while the non-enforcement policy did shield them from aggressive confrontation, it also could potentially expose them to COVID-19.
The employee said that at her store, even top managers convened meetings without donning masks and the store's hand sanitizer stations often sat empty. "People simply do not attempt to do the right thing unless they think someone is watching or there are actual consequences," he said.

Lowes is part of the problem of the virus keeps spreading. Unprotected coughs/sneezes within the store cross contaminate products. Will I have to disrobe in my garage after visiting a Lowe’s store so I don’t accidentally bring the virus in my house b\\c someone coughed near me?
Then Lowe's won't mind that I don't trade with them.
