The two companies say they plan to ‘work constructively’ with commissioner to highlight the benefits of the deal

said in a statement that they are “not precluded from continuing discussions with the commissioner at any time” and “intend to continue to work constructively with the commissioner to highlight the many benefits of the merger.”

Freedom is Canada’s fourth-largest carrier, with 1.7 million customers in Ontario, Alberta and B.C., and has been credited with reducing wireless prices in recent years.
