Fisher Industries was brought on as a general contractor and financier for the resort in early 2021 and took over ownership from Epic Resort Destinations in early 2022 after the project went in a different direction, Fisher said.
At full construction operations, Fisher said they will have more than 1,200 construction workers on-site and about 4,000 people off-site between fabrication and vendors. The water feature portion of the new resort is a six-acre lagoon that's six feet deep. This is smaller than the original 11-acre lagoon that was proposed for Crystal Lagoons. Overall, the VAI lagoon will contain about 36 acre-feet of water, or 12 million gallons, according to public records obtained by the Phoenix Business Journal.
