The PSNI referred the case to specialist cyber crime detectives

Organisations dealing with rape and sexual abuse victims and survivors have had their data stolen following a ransomware attack on a company in Derry, it has been reported.

The Derry-based company Evide, meanwhile, has said in a statement that it "immediately contacted the PSNI" once it became aware a "third party" had accessed its systems.A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Police in Derry / Londonderry received a report of a cyber-incident from a local business on Thursday, 30th March.

"Enquiries, in conjunction with our national partners, are ongoing. As such, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time." CEO of Dublin-based organisation 'One in Four' told RTE: "The data which was stolen included personal information. There would also have been short records of people's engagement in our services - that is stored separately.
