Companies looking to save money by having their staff work at home in future have been dealt a setback by a Swiss court ruling ordering an employer to pay part of a worker’s rent.
A Swiss court? What on earth has that to do with the UK? Perhaps we should also abide with court rulings in Mauritania?
Bad idea. The worker was going to pay rent anyway, it’s not a newly incurred cost due to work. Employee saves on time & gas commuting, etc. this is a disincentive for employers to use remote work more often.
