But not on their petrol sales. Try asking what’s happened to them in view of their uncompetitive prices.

My impression is that Tesco has increased the prices of their basic / value ranges proportionately more than the premium ones as people trade down. This, if true, would be hitting the poorest the hardest but will help the stores profits hold up
