div > div.group > p:first-child"> Bed Bath & Beyond — Shares of the merchandise retail store jumped more than 27 percent as three activist investors, Legion Partners Asset Management, Macellum Advisors and Ancora Advisors, are preparing to replace the company's board. A person familiar with the situation said plans are to oust long-term Chief Executive Steven Temares.

Endo International — Shares of the pharmaceutical company rose about 6.6 percent after OxyContin-maker Purdue Pharma reportedly settled a lawsuit with the Oklahoma Attorney General's office for $270 million. Endo is a maker of Opioid painkillers. McDonald's — The fast-food giant's stock rose more than 1 percent after McDonald's acquired Dynamic Yield, a company with the technology needed for McDonald's to create personalized drive-thru menus. McDonald's paid $300 million for Dynamic Yield, its largest deal in two decades.

IHS Markit — The global information company dipped more than 2 percent after reporting mixed quarterly results. The company posted earnings per share of 60 cents, topping a Refinitiv estimate by 3 cents. However, IHS' revenue of $1.046 billion missed expectations.
