The Court achieved a 58% performance metric, achieving its set target by finalising over 2000 matters out of a total of just over 3 500 matters. In the 2021/22 financial year, the specialist court finalised 60% of matters before it. During the period under review, 18% less Labour Court matters were enrolled compared to the previous period.The case load decreased in all centres, except for Durban which saw an increase of 7%.

Indeed, it’s been a few years that the Labour Court has approached the executive to ask for more posts for judges to be created, to ask for more courtrooms so that more cases can be done.
