Most single, looking Democrats would not consider dating a Trump voter - Business Insider

Around seven-in-ten of single Democrats would not consider dating someone who voted for President Donald Trump, according to the survey.

Only 47% of Republican and right-leaning respondents said they wouldn't consider dating someone who voted for Hillary Clinton.

Republican and right-leaning respondents weren't as strongly opposed to the idea of crossing party lines, as 47% said they "probably or definitely wouldn't be in a relationship" with someone who voted for former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, with 19% saying they definitely would not.

The 2016 presidential election seems to be the sharpest divider among singles in comparison with parties in general, as only 43% of looking Democrats responded they wouldn't consider a relationship with a Republican and 24% responded they "probably or definitely would not seriously date a Democrat."

As a Republican who dated many women in the Bay Area over a 10-yr period, this was never a factor. But I can see how a survey question could elicit such results.

Well this explains the silent majority

I think it’s a matter of values-it’s becoming harder and harder to reconcile the difference in values between many Rs and Ds.

So it couldn’t be that fundamentally Republicans & Democrats see policy through a different lense therefore choices r different which would be why they would not date considering being in awe of each other would be a struggle. Instead you spin it to be a “Trump” voter.

Absolutely zero possibility that I could do it. And I’ve been a Republican for most of my adult life (not now).
