The Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry says a prolonged MCO can lead to irreversible damage to the economy, education and employment.
Its president Tan Cheng Kiat lauded the efforts by the government and health ministry to tackle Covid-19 and put in place the MCO to arrest the spread of the virus. “Given the facts that we know now, a prolonged MCO will have far more damage to the country’s well-being than the epidemic itself given that the death rate is exponentially lower than existing non-communicable diseases or even the common flu,” he said.
This sounds very Trump like...
99 deaths still too low huh? Outstanding people we have at MICC
The decision to lift MCO should be left to the Health DG, ministry & all the relevant experts in that field, not for greedy chamber of businessmen to decide.
Leave the decision to MOH ok. They know best when to lift the MCO. Its best for everyone.
It’s tricky I know but I would rather leave that decision to medical experts not business spreadsheets.
Businesses can begin but it should be done slowly and with social distancing in place. All things in place, we should start cautiously.
Capitalism talking as usual from profit, streamline and cost cutting
Move forward for high mortality rate?
After Phase 4 of MCO, business must resume. Please, resume!
