Steven Mnuchin, U.S. Treasury secretary, right, speaks beside U.S. President Donald Trump during a Coronavirus Task Force news conference in the briefing room of the White House in Washington, D.C., U.
S., on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.The lakers don’t give a dam about small business. There’re like most big businesses they just want the money and don’t care how they get
The US Treasury just needs to get these questionable funds returned.
Well, when the administration is incompetent and basically sets up this program with no real parameters, what do you think would happen?
If only there was some sort of oversight...
It is but their not alone
You’re only saying that because they got caught
Really? Maybe you should have set up better oversight! Going through the banks was your first mistake! stevenmnuchin1
What about the Hornets, whose teal and turquoise uniforms caused its personnel to play like overgrown girls dressed in rompers?
Think he knew about the loop hole, probably passed a note under the table to some big companies about it, then when news broke, it’s just an awkward he got caught with pants down situation.
I AGREE with 1000% for that shit!...F That!...shocking low move for a team that PRETENDS to be high class...yeah...ok...Kobe would have shut that shit right down...this whole year can go to hell...
Is the issue not, Why are the banks lending to these corporations and not small businesses? All banks should have to show who they are lending money to in regards to the SBA/PPP loans. Beheldaccountable unfairlending whohasthelittleguysback mcuban realDonaldTrump
This administration is bad at everything
They probably pay a lot more tax than they received as a loan. 30m per year contract for 4 or 5 players. A billion plus revenue. Do the tax on that.
How did they receive the loan by your own incompetence
Who wrote the bill with all the loopholes? Stop pretending you didn't know this would happen. You orchistrated it!!!
Wasn’t Donnie going to do oversight. Another failure
Libs out here for ignoring Lakers championships lol
More outrageous that they qualify for the loan in the first place. Don't have the player, hate the game.
cripthevote Unions make America great MAGA. organized labor, organized Americans against elites. Unionize amazon WholeFoods Walmart Target McDonalds
You guys named the game. And bungled it.
Trumps hotel buddy Monty Bennett got 126M of PPP from sba loan
They returned it without taking a dime. Can you say that about his GOP bedfellows?
Shouldn’t someone be checking to see who gets this money
Who else
Why Trump Administration gave loans to them? Poor planning or intentional loopholes?
Running this again... On retainer from treasury, are we?
why did they offer them the loan...?
I find it more outrageous that the government gave my tax dollars to them than that they accepted it!
It was outrageous YOU and REPUBLICANS allowed them to do it. AND what about TRUMPS FRIENDS WHO COLLECTED. WHERES you outrage there hypocrit that you are!
all the talk about helping where it counts turns out only big business benefited. so sad.
It's outrageous some dumb dumb at the Treasury saw 'Los Angeles Lakers' and assumed it was some sort of fishing or tourism enterprise
What about the rest?!
Given the shenanigans I think they should review all loans over 500K as not many small businesses would see more. Also there needs to be a review of corporate entities that have related shareholders or franchise relationships
Perhaps when the loan approvals were granted, they should have started from the bottom of the list.
Does he have any thoughts about Trump hotels asking the Trump administration to give them money whilst they’re closed because of the virus by order of President Trump?
Great watch this
Why were they even able to receive it in the first place?
They should never have been allowed to acces the funds.
Bruh
Mnuchin is also outrageous and incompetent. This is the Grifter and Fraudster Paradise.
These softball interviews are really something to behold. Why was the program designed such that the Lakers were eligible in the first place?
He also said mismanaged state governments shouldn’t get money. Why doesn’t that same logic apply to corporations?
save_the_tweet on the blockchain please save Thankyou
The Gov did shut them down. They should be compensated along with everyone else
Capitalism
Mnuchin (GS) has got the biggest bonus after 2008-2009. Do you really trust him?
The CARES Act required that additional guidance was to come on Forgiveness within 30 days of enactment. Today is day 32 Many businesses have the P3 funds and their 8 week clock is ticking. They want to do the right thing, but where is the guidance? PPP P3 3P forgiveness SBA
corn_barley but not outrageous for the feds to NOT have mechanisms in place to prevent it?
If these companies applied for these loans, did they falsify documents to obtain the money? How did they go through the small business process without being rejected.
Now have the thumb stevenmnuchin1 do realDonaldTrump buddy Monty Bennett got the largest loan from the SBA program
Most true small business workers are now, with the $600 bonus on unemployment, are getting more $$$ than when they worked. Why would they go back to work?
Outrageous, yet we let it happen and did nothing to prevent it, or put anything in the PPP application process that would stop it. Munchin and Powell need to be tried for treason.
I thought I read the Lakers already returned the funds, no?
It looks to me that you were/are a part of a vote purchase loan plan.
Everybody loves free money. I bet the Trump tower took some of that loan too. Just wait till the dust is clear.
Re PPP second round. Some banks saying they’re already at their cap. Exhausted it on Day 1 (yesterday)
Hey how about all the publicly traded companies to received money?
You make money available, big business is first to step up.
Well Steven, you were in charge. How did you let this happen - Mr. I am so smart
He should have the same energy for all the Trump money they sent their way.
