The Supreme Court decided in a landmark ruling on Monday that existing anti-discrimination employment protections apply to individuals who are gay, lesbian, and transgender.

, the Trump-appointed Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote the decision to protect employees LGBTQ employees stems from Title VII's existing protections on sex.He continued: "An employer who fires an individual for being homosexual or transgender fires that person for traits or actions it would not have questioned in members of a different sex. Sex plays a necessary and undisguisable role in the decision, exactly what Title VII forbids.

Conservative Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and the Trump-appointed Brett Kavanaugh wrote dissenting opinions.

I wish they would outlaw employers who don't hire ppl because of their names or bc I dont speak spanish in an english speaking country....

Weird that they needed the Supreme Court for this......
