Of course they should be reopening, Just as schools, and pubs, Numbers don't justify it. If numbers are from up to 10 days ago for infection, then numbers in whole of metro Melbourne without heathcare and security is 3

I assume they are going to ban all smoking within 10m of an outdoor dining area?

Sack those idiots. They have never heard of Melbourne weather?

Yeah more bs

Melissainau Just look at the UK's current stats, hitting an all time high. Indoor dining went so well here. For the virus.

People with financial stake vs objective scientist's. Hmmmm who should we trust.

AlanBixter Victoria just needs a bit of patience and it will emerge from this deadly virus feeling so relieved at being able to overcome it - the alternative was too horrible to think about.

If indoor dining can return in other states when there are next to no COVID-19 cases, why can't it return in Victoria now?

You're right, every other state in the country has faired so poorly. /S Who are these infection control experts? What rubbish.

Danny's arselikkers are at it again.

I hope nobody serves DanielAndrewsMP a coffee or dinner! He couldn't be so dumb to think he is would get served!

BS!

Hence why people are enforced to wear masks outside? Medical mafia strikes again.

Yes of course it spreads more indoors. However should it not also be considered the levels of virus in the Melbourne area? Once we have an active case count of 250 which is where NSW opened up massively including indoor dining. Should there not be a consideration for it?

We’d be better off with herd immunity with measures in place for the vulnerable, than the disaster Dan has given us.

There is nothing to fucking spread, why they hell are these liars contintuing this endlessly destructive con job.

The Andrew’s ALP Government will soon make the top 10 list for anthropogenic disasters. All ALP Ministers are tied to this legacy, they watched in silence and suffered memory loss whilst this occurred. springstreet

Ahh, why?.Journalists (informed sources) know better...The governments just trying to hold the state back (apparently)..Is it still a problem if the vendor erects a tent?. If so does the said tent need to be canvas or plastic..If it has a HEPA filter installed is it ok? 🤣

Yeah but they would shut down everything to keep people safe from living. Is that really the world we are striving for? Time to get these zero riskers out of the way.

Pathetic article. All it states is that it is easier to spread covid inside compared to outside (known!) and it also said there had been cases where from restaurants but that was before implementation of controls. No reason that with capacity & other controls that it can't occur.

If the risk of spreading the virus is much higher indoors than out. Why are we locked in our houses 22 hrs a day?

Great reporting you morons! Let’s just lockdown forever and stop spread of every virus while we are doing such a good job! Absolutely amazing how stupid you sound!

When you write stuff like this it almost makes it sound like Dan was right when he wanted to keep Vic under restrictions longer during the first wave. And that the unrelenting push by scotty and the vic libs and media to open us up too fast wasn't a great idea. springst

Nice try

Such a shame this shit DanielAndrewsMP government let the genie out of the bottle in the first place.

Health first

The Andrews Road Map is working More news on The Ruby Princess the accountability is with the Premier and the health minister They both must step down

It’s sound science to live in a cave if your sole focus is avoiding a virus

'Like stepping into a museum': Critics say TAFEs are not keeping pace with industryThe head of the industry body that represents the nation's TAFEs has described the system as 'broken' and says serious reform is needed. I can vouch this. I did no acetylene welding/brazing, even though it is a required unit. Text books written over 15 years ago. Under resourced. Yet $70M upgrade to the gym/office building but not the Manufacturing department. Lots of apprentices to serve building Naval ships last year in Victoria, yet placed in underfunded, under resourced TAFE's. Labor has done little to nothing to increase manufacturing jobs and apprenticeship numbers.

So some of Victoria’s leading hospitality figures have devised a plan. Is this...the same plan/campaign that was devised with 'Change Victoria', a company that has ties to the Liberal Party and the IPA? Globalbiosec Critical to have such initiatives being openly reviewed for staged reopening on the back of lower CT Qld hasn’t had the community transmission either !!!! Ffs do you not understand the virus cannot be allowed to run rampant !!!!

Premiers are ‘holding the tourism industry to ransom’ | Sky News AustraliaThe Australian Chamber of Tourism’s John Hart says the nation’s tourism industry is being held to ransom by premiers who will not re-open borders and allow people to get 'back to business'.\n\n“We lost, in the first six months of this year, 136-and-a-half thousand jobs out of our industry because we can’t get people moving around the country,” Mr Hart told Sky News host Chris Kenny.\n\n“And we’re going to lose a whole lot more unless we get these borders open, it’s just grinding the industry to a halt.\n\n“We’ve got an industry that’s being held to ransom by those premiers.”\n Which would result in more covid cases, and borders re-closing just like last time.
