“We’re not OK,” the Daily Gamecock’s editorial staff wrote. “We haven’t been sleeping. We’ve forgotten to eat. We’ve been staring at screens for hours on end. Our negligence of our mental health has started to impact our physical health…We hope that you also take this time to recenter yourself and prioritize your mental health.”
I call bullshit. They probably make these days up so employees spend their free days. If not, they would accumulate. Causing problems later on. And well, requiring a bigger reserve on the balance sheet. Which companies don't like. That is the real reason.

Figured that! I've seen companies where is almost a crime to take a day off and recharge. Also, I've seen companies who intended to work all year long, including federal holidays.
